Por kio oni hufferus hundon?
- Korea dirafxo
Why would anuone put horseshoes on a dog?
- Korean saying
Note that what appears to be a double "f" in "hufferus". That's really an f
at the end of "huf" (hoof), and a separate one at the beginning of "fer"
(iron). Except for compound words like that, you'll never see a double letter
in an Esperanto word!
Also, the esperanto version above is exactly the way I saw it (obviously
translated from Korean by someone else(. It starts with "Por kio", `for
what'. I almost changed it to "Kial", the more usual way of saying "why" (for
what reason) in esperanto. {shrug}. It works either way.
