Esperanto marriage-broker A significant number of people first met at esperanto events, and eventually married. Sometimes they didn't share fluency in any other language at first, and when they had children, the kids were true native speakers. National languages were conceived and grew on the fly, without effective oversight. Esperanto is the one really successfully "planned marriage", though now, a century, and a quarter in, we easily seen that it's long since made the transition to a natural, healthy growing language and culture. We benefit from both sides of that heritage, the coherent planning, and the natural growth. --- BBBS/Li6 v4.10 Dada-1 * Origin: Prism bbs (1:261/38) |
