I'm not fully sure what your goal is.... R U running Synchronet??  Synchronet
has a Java app that polls to get mail called binkit.

More is coming.  I heard D'Bridge is  getting re-wrtiten in Java and will
work on any platform, it has a BinkD section to it already.  you might want
to look into that program to see if there is any one running this mailer in
Linux.
