I have never thought of the gazette being anything more than an alternative
fidonet newsletter.

If you don't want zone wars then don't participate in them.

Janis was always very nice to me. We didn't speak often but when we did we
always had easy conversations and she was always willing to help when she
could.

That may be different to your experience but that is what I know of her.

I have only posted a few messages and they were mostly on topic.. :)

Let it rest if that is what you want to do.

Personally, I have no problem if Sean continues the gazette if that is what he
wants to do.
