Mv> My prime suspect for that incident was, and still is Thom LaCosta... That is a possibility too. I asked customs agents at the end of the pretty long search why I was singled-out and I don't remember the exact reply anymore, It was obvious they were on a targeted search. I already knew something was up when I passed the lady at immigration, she became nervous, complained at how slow her system was while her other colleagues were happily typing away. So I collected my suitcase which contained one business suit, one pair of nice shoes, three pairs of socks, three sets of underwear, 3 T-shirts, a white shirt, a neck tie and a box of chocolates. Also toiletries. And 3 hulks were waiting for me and escorted me to the side. I must say, they were very courteous and friendly ... the longer it took for them to search my modest possessions, the more it became obvious from my relaxed demeanor their search would be in vain. At the beginning they said "You have not passed customs yet and you may still alter your customs declaration. You will just pay duties on that. If you report nothing and we discover contraband, then you may be charged in a court of law". I tell you, I knew exactly what was the matter and I just stood there, hands in pocket, whistling, having fun ... after close to an hour they took my paperwork and passport, stamped it and "Welcome to the United States". But I think it was the one whose name we're not supposed to mention who knew the flightnumber and the arrival time. Close to 19 years ago and some of the details may be becoming blurry.
