It's not on the fly, but you can fully automate it with this FTools function:

6.11      Addnew

Automatically add new areas detected during FMail Toss to the
FMAIL.AR. FMail will use the default settings defined in the
AreaMgr defaults section of FConfig. A name for JAM areas is
generated automatically.

ÿ         FTools Addnew [-A]

          [-A]  AutoExport external config files
                See paragraph 3.5.2 for which files this relates to,
                and how to configure them.

Only the link which was responsible for (auto)creating the area is added as
