This week we are celebrating the Fourth of July, American Independence Day, by 
featuring notables from the American Revolution.

Tadeusz Kosciuszko, Polish General who aided General George Washington during

Fleuri Mesplet, printer for the Continental Congress before moving to Montreal
to set up 
Quebec's first daily newspaper.

Richard Montgomery, leading figure in the Invasion of Quebec, until his
untimely death 
at the Battle of Qu˙bec on 31 December 1775.

John Sevier, Sr., one of the commanders at the Battle of King's Mountain, US 
Representative for North Carolina & Tennessee, 1st Governor of Tennessee.

Banastre Tarleton, British soldier and politician known as "Bloody Ban" during
the war.
