Why is there need for? Usually the quote indicator > breaks the detection
position.

 RM> INVALIDATE Tearline "---"           "-+-"

In my case it's an indication problem of my color settings. I see --- ---
because my quote color is Green on Black. When i mark the --- --- then the
color change makes --- -+- visible.
