Hunspell is embedded in latest versions of GoldEd in Linux. Just need to install and configure dictionaries. Dictionaries are availabe in pretty much all Linux distributions. Configuration samples are in documentation and advanced.cfg file. I suggest not to use dictionaries in UTF-8 (it's very easy to recode them to another 8-bit charset). But it may be fine for English.
