REPLY: 3670.fido_ham@1:124/5016 2d5cf08b CHRS: IBMPC 2 MSGID: 1:18/200 68f7d667 Hello, Mortar! Replying to a message of Mortar M. to Rug Rat: MM> You must be so proud. Last month's meeting, we had one of our members who is the East Coast regional sales director for Bendix King, a high-end radio manufacturer, take and pass his Technican test on a whim. I am a VE for our club and I dared him to doi it. We do not charge test fees so he took it...and passed. LOL We give him a hard timr now about being an "accidental ham". He was able to get BK to donate a special system to us that allows club members to usxe both our 2 meter and220 meter repeaters over the Internet. The system is called InteropONE if you want to look it up. I am an ARRL-accredited VE with the Laurel VEC out of Laurel, Maryland. It's one of the oldest VEC groups and they do not charge a test fee for any amateur radio license test. -- Sean KS4TD/WSBW961 EM86ti / ks4td.us --- FleetStreet 1.27.1 * Origin: ARS KS4TD Local Console (1:18/200) SEEN-BY: 18/200 105/81 106/201 128/187 129/14 305 153/7715 154/110 SEEN-BY: 218/700 226/30 227/114 229/110 111 200 206 300 307 312 317 SEEN-BY: 229/400 426 428 470 664 700 705 266/512 291/111 292/854 320/219 SEEN-BY: 322/757 342/200 396/45 460/58 633/280 712/848 902/26 5020/400 SEEN-BY: 5075/35 PATH: 18/200 229/426 |
