Hello, Mortar!

Replying to a message of Mortar M. to Rug Rat:

MM> You must be so proud.

Last month's meeting, we had one of our members who is the East Coast regional
sales director for Bendix King, a high-end radio manufacturer, take and pass
his Technican test on a whim. I am a VE for our club and I dared him to doi
it. We do not charge test fees so he took it...and passed. LOL

We give him a hard timr now about being an "accidental ham".

He was able to get BK to donate a special system to us that allows club
members to usxe both our 2 meter and220 meter repeaters over the Internet.
The system is called InteropONE if you want to look it up.

I am an ARRL-accredited VE with the Laurel VEC out of Laurel, Maryland. It's
one of the oldest VEC groups and they do not charge a test fee for any amateur
radio license test.
