 The Tx'er on my Echolink node is a Yaesu FT2980.  So it puts out 80 watts out
of the box, but for longevity sake, it would be better to go through an amp. 
Have the radio put out it's lowest power (10 Watts), and let the amp do the
heavy lifting.
