But, someone else will spot the error(s) right off!! My late wife and Co-Sysop, even though her eyesight was poor, ran her display in 640x480 resolution (you could do that years ago), and she'd find errors in the bulletins, etc. MD> I'm going to look into MultiMail and see if it fits my needs. It's MD> been years since I did QWK. Thanks for that suggestion. I don't remember which QWK reader I first used, but for several years, I used OLX (Offline Express), made by the same company that did SLMR (Silly Little Mail Reader). They don't support OLX or SLMR anymore, and those only work with 16-bit or 32-bit OS's...they will NOT work under a 64-bit OS. MultiMail is an offline mail packet reader for Unix / Linux, MS-DOS, OS/2, Windows, macOS, and other systems, using a curses-based interface. It supports the Blue Wave, QWK, OMEN, SOUP and OPX formats. MultiMail is free, open source software, distributed under the GNU General Public License. You can get the latest version at: https://wmcbrine.com/mmail/ I set up a separate file area on the BBS for it. Also, I changed the internal editor to Notepad++, as more often than not, Notepad with Windows 11, would constantly go back to a "Settings" page...and I had already set what I wanted. You could still open Notepad in another window to copy stuff from another textfile, then paste it into Notepad++ (I did with the text from the documentation for MultiMail, to show what it ran on). I also prefer to answer my messages via QWK Mail, rather than online; as I can reply at my leisure...never mind that I can do "tagline research" (NOT stealing) |
