Yeah, I am glad I had that bot checker as well all these years later .. although (almost as you said), the Internet allows people from all around the world to hack someone else's PC/IP/etc. and start attacking others. At least back in the early 90s, they had to have an expensive phone bill to do so (yeah, I know, they also were able to steal phone cards, etc.) LOL It appears 62323 is back up again - I have also been keylogging my fresh install of mystic on a standard :23 (not sure if I had said that in the previous port). And added a looonnnnng system password as well. So of course they are going to never get it using "admin" "root" etc. and will be blocked after 3 attempts anyways. Then, I -merge- those IPs into my main Mystic install but change the last "octet" to .* -- the more and more I get from the same main IP (eg. 218.201.57.*, then I keep updating to block out more and more like 218.201.* and then 218.*) at the Firewall level so they won't even ever get past the router end. Takes a bit here and there, but I'm missing being able to access my own BBS from work during lunch using the .html Telnet portal. :( Have a great day!!!!
