As of today, Mortal BBS here in the beautiful Blue Mountains in Australia is connected to HobbyNet (954:895/29) and I wanted to send a quick hello to everyone. I originally started the BBS in 1996 as a 12 year old (with a very understanding mother who wasn't too bothered by 3 extra phone lines being installed at home) using RemoteAccess. I always wanted to use Wildcat! but couldn't afford it back then so had to make do with what I could. The BBS took a break from 2005 to 2011 when I moved cities at which point I resurrected it using Synchronet. It then had another break from 2014-2021 but was never really stable on the old operating system it was running on so when it crashed in February this year I left it offline for a few months. But that's all changed now. Mortal BBS has been rebuilt with the only thing that was kept being the user base. Message networks and file areas have been imported from scratch, I've dug out my old DOOR registrations and resurrected those, and modified a lot of the Synchronet stock menus to suit my own structure. The BBS is still (as always) a work in progress but it's nice to be here! -Shaun --- SBBSecho 3.20-Linux * Origin: Mortal BBS - bbs.mortalbbs.com:23 (954:895/29) SEEN-BY: 229/110 426 470 700 291/111 5020/400 5075/35 PATH: 229/470 426 |
