I purchased the DOS version in the late 1980's and then the Winserver version
even 
before it was written.  I got it a half the cost because they hadn't developed
it yet.

I immediately started the HobbyNet network because I was intrigued with
Prodigy and 
wanted to create my own version of it for myself.  I lived in the Fort
Lauderdale area at 
the time and was networked to about 10 nodes ranging south into Miami and
north into 
Palm Beach counties.

So much easier to network now with the advent of the internet than it was via
modem.  
I actually considered myself as an ISP because I had a dedicated phone line to
a local 
provider.  I was able to share my internet connection over my other 3 lines
for my dial-
up customers, but it was of course very slow:)
