      Title: Cinnamon Crackle Cookies

      Yield: 7 Dozen
 
    1/2 c  Butter; softened
    1/2 c  Shortening
      1 c  Sugar
    1/2 c  (packed) brown sugar
      1 lg Egg; room temp
      1 ts Vanilla extract
    1/2 ts Almond extract
  2 1/2 c  A-P flour
      1 tb Ground cinnamon
      2 ts Baking soda
      2 ts Cream of tartar
      2 ts Ground nutmeg
      2 ts Grated orange zest
      1 ts Grated lemon zest
    1/2 ts Salt
           Add"l sugar
 
  In a large bowl, cream butter, shortening and sugars
  until light and fluffy, 5-7 minutes. Beat in egg and
  extracts. Combine the flour, cinnamon, baking soda,
  cream of tartar, nutmeg, orange and lemon zest and salt;
  gradually add to the creamed mixture.
  
  Shape into 1" balls; roll in sugar. Place 2" apart on
  ungreased baking sheets. Bake @ 350ºF/175ºC until
  lightly browned, 10-15 minutes.
  
  Remove to wire racks to cool.
