bother but make sure you point out to them that they have no one to blame but
themselves. What made them think they could take on the powers that be?

There is no point getting upset with a loved one who insists on doing
something that will surely end in tears. All you can do is let them get on
with it and be ready to help pick up the pieces later on. There's no telling
