Just a shoutout for LineageOS; I ran a Samsung S3 on CyanogenOS (and later 
LineageOS) for several years, the only reason I stopped was because the 
developer who supported the S3 build broke his S3 and got a new phone.

Vanilla Android with current security patches (and no adware/add-on crap) 
long after your carrier or vendor have forgotten your phone. Nice.
