I think it is unlikely that the author will bother with this. "It works for me!" -- the GNU principle. And GNU principle says: "Do you want another way? Do it yourself!" HotdogEd is not a commercial program and the author will not bother to correct that certain users wish, he is not financially interested in this. And this is the main trouble with any non-proprietary projects I guess.
