I'd love to see similar built-in capability when replying to messages when using Thunderbird. Fidolook for OutlookExpress was amazing. OpenXP does a pretty good job with messages that arrive via true FTN. But there are issues with some othernets that I am curently exploring that arrive via nntp using OpenXP. For those, it looks like Thunderbird will be the only way to go; I would only use the Reformator/Quoter to retain a Fidostyle quote for a larger section of the message. But, with the threading capabilities these days, I am considering not quoting much at all. It is just as easy to hit the necessary "control" to navigate through a thread: ÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ º When reference links available º º (Maus, Fido): º º º º + Go to the next message in the º º reference link (if any) º º º º - Go to the original message in the reference º º link (as long as it's still in the º º messagebase). º º º º Cursor-Left and Cursor-Right Toggles between º º messages in the same reference link. º The more systems would be conscious of using msgids/threading, then quoting wouldn't be needed much at all. ../|ug --- OpenXP 5.0.43 * Origin: (2:221/1.58) SEEN-BY: 1/123 90/1 120/340 601 226/30 227/114 702 229/101 426 452 SEEN-BY: 229/664 1014 240/5832 249/206 317 400 292/854 317/3 322/757 SEEN-BY: 342/200 PATH: 221/1 280/464 229/101 426 |
