At one time I had a collection of routers. If one didn't work I'd use another.

At one time I had a little black box, it was about the size of a jello
package. It was cheap and worked very well, I ran the BBS off that box very
well for a long time.

The box I have now was provided by my ISP and does everything. It's a modem
and router along with WiFi all in one. Any regular internet consumer would be
perfectly happy with the way it works. The problem comes up with the ports.
There is some kind of server answering on port 22 and 23. I can disable it but
then port 22 and 23 do nothing. Port 21 is also a problem for some.

A VPS would solve all these port issues, I think. A well behaved router also
but for the time being that is what I have.

I am not sure if I can plug another box in here with what my ISP provides so I
don't know if that would help at all. In fact, I don't know the difference
between these different boxes.

 Ttyl :-),
