Mark,
ML>his system shouldn't be sending the ?LO files... the ?UT files, on the other
ML>hand, are PKT files... they contain netmail or echomail... your downlink has
ML>got their stuff configured properly...
Yeah, he had his netmail routing all screwed up as well, sending stuff
through a FIDONet address, instead of through the network it should've
been. Plus, he says that "Synchronet doesn't require a nodelist". Every
BBS package I've run (GT Power under dial-up, then Synchronet and
Virtual Advanced) has required a nodelist to do netmail.
I told him I was going to stick to QWK Networking of it, as I was
afraid we were going to anger the Region 19 Coordinator, if we kept that
up. I figured the problem was on his end.
ML>you mean SA0 TU2 and similar? those are bundles... they contain PKTs...
That's what I figured. Mail seems to be tossing OK.
ML> DS> Since my BBS is telnet/web only (no dial-up), even though Virtual
ML> DS> Advanced has a deal to "check for FIDOMail (EMSI)" at logon, I have
ML> DS> that disabled.
ML>EMSI works over telnet ;)
However, while VADV32 has a Windows setup, it basically is a "DOS"
setup, because it does NOT have DOOR32.SYS capability. I've heard talk
about plans for that and upgrading it to 32-bit software, but that's
all...just talk. But, I'd be curious to know how to get EMSI to work
under telnet.
Daryl
