What brand/model is the the Xfinity router?  Some of them are very unreliable
in bridge mode.  When we upgraded here, they first gave use a Cisco DPC device
which never worked properly in bridge mode.  After several hours dealing with
their inept customer support, they agreed to exchange it for an Arris TM722G
which has worked flawlessly ever since I set it up.
