You copied the wrong Makefile. I get the same error:

crashmail/src $ cp Makefile.linux cmnllib/
crashmail/src $ make linux
mkdir -p obj
make -C cmnllib -f Makefile.linux
make[1]: Entering directory '/tmp/crashmail/src/cmnllib'
make[1]: *** No rule to make target 'crashmail/crashmail.c', needed by
'obj/crashmail.o'. Stop.
make[1]: Leaving directory '/tmp/crashmail/src/cmnllib'
make: *** [Makefile:16: linux] Error 2

Copy src/cmnllib/Makefile.linux to src/cmnllib/Makefile.osx, change gcc to
clang and try again.
