Perhaps. But let me clarify: I am referring to copying a disk to another
disk. once the disk to be copied is read completely, K3B attempts to
eject the source disk so the blank disk can be inserted and burned. There
is a pause, followed by an error message that says, "unable to eject media"
or somthing like that. Anyway, K3B can't open the drive, which is the bottom
line. My nephew tells me that the pioneer drive is a touchy peice of hardware,
and not very robust in it's operation. I'm thinking of swaping it out of the
small form factor computer that it's in (a gift, and handsome one at that) and
swapping in the optiwrite drive from the pentium tower (my wife's linux box).
The Optiwrite is a great drive, and my wife dosen't use the player/burner
on her computer much anyway. I'm kind of chicken. I really don't like messing
with hardware when I can avoid it. I'll put in the occasional ethernet card, or
graphics board, but that's about it. Maybe I'll work up the courage one of
these
days. ;-)

best regards,

Mateus
