Hi gang.
I am a n00b and was wondering is anyone could give me some pointers on
upgrading Gtk-gnutella-0.96.1 to 0.96.3. I have no real idea about all
this compiling stuff. I have given it about a week worth of trying to
make it happen but with no luck.
I have added backport repositorys, learnt about the difference between
tar.gz, and tar.bz2 files, the difference between apt-get and aptitude.
Done stuff like "sudo aptitude install build-essential" and the readme
files as far as I could before hitting a wall or three, searched the web
and ended up rather lost in it all.
I have spent ages at a terminal trying different things and still
haven't quite got it. I think I may have got as far as creating the
configuration file but not actually creating the .deb file.
So it's not like I haven't given it *several* good whorls!
Could someone here be so kind as to give me a few pointers please.
Thanks for your time.
-Adrian
