Actually that's how I ended up with ubuntu.  Cyclone Larry killed my old 
mobo, and the one I got cheep from ebay (asus+athlon 2000+ cpu) has an 
on-board nvidia graphics card.  I tried re compiling my old Mandrake 
distro to run on it.  No such luck.  Ubantu runs fine on it though.  I'm 
sorry I can't be of more help, just thought you might like to know.
