A synaptic install has gone wrong leaving my GUI unusable - I am posting
from a full screen mode at a different, text based, run level.
I need, urgently, some info on how to reset Gnomes taskbar as this seems
to be what is stopping my GUI running properly - I get a blank taskbar
with windows flickering on the desktop and then nothing - I can see my
desktop icons but there is no taskbar from which to launch a
program. Same for failsafe gnome.
Any info appreciated.
ps I have had nothing but problems recently with dependencies in
synaptic on ubuntu edgy :( Something is wrong somewhere.
