from a terminal:
sudo cp /media/cdrom/*.ogg /home/username/Desktop/
sudo chown username:usergroup /home/username/Desktop/*.ogg
Where username is your user name, usually the user group is just the user
name repeated (william:william for me). Of course the path to the mounted
CD-Rom drive may be different for you.
