I am delighted to hear you are trying Ubuntu!
Keep in mind that even though most things will be intuitive and easy 
and obvious - and should work well - experienced windows users (such 
as I used to be) may find great frustration at times because 
apparently simple (though slightly ambitious) requirements cannot be 
met within one's existing experience.

I found it useful to move to linux progressively, still using windows 
for a time for utility  during my learning process.
