Download the Ubuntu live cd, boot from it, and try it for yourself.  If it
runs and sees all of your equipment from the CD boot, it will install and
boot flawlessly for you.  Otherwise, look around the net to see if there
are drivers for the devices that you find are not supported in the distro.
