Using the same file throughout !
Original ogg file (converted from an mp3) on Win HD
shows NEITHER : 'Read only' nor 'Hidden'
Once it's copied to a CD : It shows as 'Archived'
That's normal so far !

Once copied onto the other 'puter with Ubuntu.

Using 'Audio Tag Tool', all tracks are 'greyed out'
so I can't do anything with them.

Using 'EasyTAG', on trying to save, I get :
Can't write tag in file '007 - carrie.ogg'
((nul))

It was probably quicker for *me* to re-install, it was only
a basic set-up at that point. As to 'fixing it', you appear to
be assuming that I have a clue as to what I'm doing !!!
(do I need a smiley here ?)
