I use GNUPOD - a great command line program, none of the dammed drag-n-drop
when you know where the files are located. Management isn't the best, no way
to delete files (songs) on the iPod. No way to rebuild a playlist unless you
want to edit an XML file, but depending on what you need it's great. I use it
with cron jobs to download podcasts overnight then pod-load the ipod
unattended.
Then there is YamiPod. Another great if you like drag-n-drop (I detest it).
But you can build playlists, delete files (always labeled as 'songs'), shuffle
playlists and edit the 'song' info. It's very slow to load - don't pay
attention to some of it's messages - like 'no ipod connected', just let it
keep loading.
