Yes, I see that too. GoldED was written years ago. It probably compiled warning free on gcc 2.95! With each new gcc version there seems to be more warnings. It's worriesome. > Installed Ubuntu 22.04.1 on the 4 and rebuilt Golded, again with warning msgs > but again it will not run just comes back immediately. > It is beginning to seriously annoy me. Yep, these new compilers are fine with new code but older software may suffer if it's not maintained. > One trick I have not yet tried is to copy the executable from 32 bit to the > pi4 and see if it runs there. Does the pi4 support 32bit software? If so that might work. I have a copy of golded built on slackware that I keep in a safe place in case it's needed. --- BBBS/Li6 v4.10 Toy-6 * Origin: The Rusty MailBox - Penticton, BC Canada (1:153/757) SEEN-BY: 1/123 15/0 90/1 103/705 105/81 106/201 114/709 120/340 123/131 SEEN-BY: 124/5016 129/305 134/100 153/135 141 757 6809 7001 7715 154/10 SEEN-BY: 203/0 218/700 221/0 1 6 226/30 227/114 229/110 111 112 113 SEEN-BY: 229/114 206 307 317 400 424 426 428 452 470 550 616 664 700 SEEN-BY: 240/1120 5832 266/512 267/67 280/464 5003 282/1038 292/789 SEEN-BY: 292/854 8125 301/1 310/31 317/3 320/219 322/757 335/364 341/66 SEEN-BY: 341/234 342/200 396/45 410/9 423/120 460/58 633/280 712/848 SEEN-BY: 770/1 5020/545 PATH: 153/757 280/464 292/854 229/426 |
