That is the general idea.  And for the record I meant 1080p and not 1020p. 
Also you can use the 4k one as a master to test your build of ffmpeg.  Also,
also changing formats such as mp4 -> mpeg2 which will make a difference when
playing on a slower system.

Quite a few are optional except that I personally don't think they are.  Older
Mac laptops come to mind whcn thinking about compatibilty and the such.
