That doesn't sound quite right.  What was meant was that none of the penguins
here - including the four below - require python anymore than I do, no matter
what version of python we're talking about.

For the record, no python2 on this machine but there is python3 for some
strange reason.  I forget why now but I think I had a reason at one time.  I
am guessing gpsd although I haven't used that in quite some time now (years). 
I can delete it without any impact on the day-to-day stuff such as bash.
