Normally there is an audio chip on most motherboards and usb devices get allocated to card 1. If this is the case and you want the usb audio to be the default output then make sure that /etc/asound.conf reflects that. --- my /etc/asound.conf for usb audio --- defaults.pcm.card 0 defaults.ctl.card 0 ----------------------------------------- Edit the above file by changing 0 to 1.
