      * What led up to the situation?   
   Some kernel updates ago (can't remember for how long back) just booting up my   
   system has caused consistent "crash traces" in the kernel log.   
      
      * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or   
        ineffective)?   
   I have not tried anything. I am not familiar with kernel development. The   
   system boots and (seems to) work just fine.   
      
      * What was the outcome of this action?
