   P.S. as far as I can tell from https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/l   
   test/admin-guide/nfs/pnfs-block-server.html   
   block layouts are supported only for very specific configurations (XFS   
   on top of shared storage accessible to the client), where it would be   
   activated automatically.   
      
   For everybody else it probably makes sense to add something like this   
   to nfs-blkmap.service:   
      
       ConditionPathExists=/run/rpc_pipefs/nfs/blocklayout
