|    Bug#1125274: firmware-misc-nonfree: Wher    |

XPost: linux.debian.bugs.dist       From: fatwildcat@gmail.com              Package: firmware-misc-nonfree       Version: 20250410-2       Severity: normal              Dear Maintainer,              The site packages.debian.org reports that these two firmware files:       i915/kbl_guc_ver9_39.bin and i915/kbl_huc_ver02_00_1810.bin       are located in the firmware-misc-nonfree package, but apparently       these files are missing. They cannot be found also in the firmware-intel-       graphics       package.               * What led up to the situation?              I saw the following kernel message:              Jan 11 17:31:24 chromebook kernel: i915 0000:00:02.0: Direct firmware load for       i915/kbl_dmc_ver1_04.bin failed with error -2       Jan 11 17:31:24 chromebook kernel: i915 0000:00:02.0: [drm] Failed to load DMC       firmware i915/kbl_dmc_ver1_04.bin. Disabling runtime power management.              As a result, my laptop could not enter sleep (suspend to RAM) mode.       (my graphics card is CometLake-U GT2)               * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or        ineffective)?              The problem was gone when the two files were copied into /lib/firmware/i915       manually.                            -- System Information:       Debian Release: 13.3        APT prefers stable-updates        APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable-security'), (500,       'stable')       Architecture: amd64 (x86_64)              Kernel: Linux 6.12.57+deb13-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU threads; PREEMPT)       Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8),       LANGUAGE=en_US:en       Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash       Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system)       LSM: AppArmor: enabled              firmware-misc-nonfree depends on no packages.              Versions of packages firmware-misc-nonfree recommends:       ii firmware-intel-graphics 20250410-2       ii firmware-intel-misc 20250410-2       ii firmware-mediatek 20250410-2       ii firmware-nvidia-graphics 20250410-2              Versions of packages firmware-misc-nonfree suggests:       ii initramfs-tools 0.148.3              -- no debconf information              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
