   When you say the kernel freeze, does the machine still respond to pings?   
   Does enabling the keyboard backlight (if available) and NumLock still   
   work? What about pressing Alt+PrtSc+b?   
      
   Can you try installing kernels packaged by Debian from between Debian 12   
   and Debian 13 from https://snapshot.debian.org/ to find the newest   
   kernel that still works and the oldest broken one?
