   This issue is clearly triggered by gdk-pixbuf 2.44.5 which has   
   switched to glycin for its image loaders. Some background on that   
   switch is at https://bugs.debian.org/1127158   
      
   Ubuntu has the updated gdk-pixbuf (but currently only in   
   resolute-proposed). Other distros switched months ago.   
      
   For reference, the Ubuntu Desktop crash is similar but it references   
   image-missing.png which suggests that this isn't just a bug in the svg   
   loader.
