|    Bug#1128337: RM: pyroman -- ROM; Largely    |

From: erich@debian.org              Package: ftp.debian.org       Severity: normal       X-Debbugs-Cc: pyroman@packages.debian.org       Control: affects -1 + src:pyroman       User: ftp.debian.org@packages.debian.org       Usertags: remove              In my opinion (as the author of pyroman) the package is largely obsolete by       now.              Development of pyroman is pretty much dead, also because my primary use       case (a       custom firewall that would manage several zones, DMZ, VPN etc.) is no longer       under my administration for a few years already.              The linux kernel routing has evolved beyond iptables (i.e., nftables),       and in       many cases I would now recommend to directly write such tables without a       meta       tool like pyroman. In fact, I recently moved to handle my own firewalls this       way entirely.              As a transition solution, pyroman can export the rules to iptables,       which can       be imported by iptables-load (which is used by pyroman internally anyway).              Popcon only lists 12 installations:       https://qa.debian.org/popcon.php?package=pyroman              Regards,       Erich              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
