Depends on the BBS end.  If the BBS software supports QWKE or Bluewave formats,
you should be able to get the full conference names.  Synchronet and Mystic
both support QWKE.  You just have to turn it on, on the BBS end.  Magicka
supports both QWKE and Bluewave (pick the one you prefer in this instance). 
Other BBS software, I don't know
