|  Linux apps as doors  |

TID: Mystic BBS 1.12 A47 MSGID: 1:298/25 3666b08d TZUTC: 0000 I've been trying to set up some Linux apps as doors on a WWIV BBS to make an old-school-ish gateway to internet stuff. I'm trying to keep the board as widely accessible as possible, so you can connect from PC, Atari, Commodore, Apple, etc. You just need an 80 column terminal usually. I having some trouble with the ctrl-J/ctrl-M (CR/LF) thing and wouldn't mind some advice on that if you know what I'm talking about. I'm using SLRN for usenet news, which seems to work pretty well. There's a really basic IRC client called SIC that I found to work with most platforms I "dial in" with.. Both lynx and links, though, seem to not be very good at showing any websites these days. I'm not sure why, but for example if I try to browse to Yahoo.com, it gives me "Illegal redirection URL received from server!". This may be partly because I'm running it with the options to disallow various things for security, since it's being run by multiple users and such. Has anyone reading this base attempted anything like this? Any recommendations for new or different apps that can help with what I want to accomplish? --- Mystic BBS v1.12 A47 2021/11/18 (Linux/64) * Origin: Raiders Inc BBS -- vintagebbsing.com:1337 (1:298/25) SEEN-BY: 1/123 14/0 15/0 90/1 105/81 106/201 114/705 709 120/340 123/120 SEEN-BY: 123/131 129/305 330 153/7715 154/154 226/30 227/114 229/110 SEEN-BY: 229/206 317 400 424 426 428 452 550 616 664 700 240/5832 SEEN-BY: 266/512 282/1038 292/854 298/25 27 28 30 33 34 35 301/1 305/3 SEEN-BY: 317/3 320/219 322/757 342/200 396/45 633/280 712/848 PATH: 298/25 317/3 229/426 |
