4.08 is a beta version that addresses some of the issues in 4.07, such as 
incompatibility with OS/2 and dosemu.  It also has some issues of its own, 
like not always clearing the screen when it should.  I personally recommend 
staying with 4.07 unless your environment precludes that (OS/2 or dosemu.)
