I wondered why they're doing a story about Dark Phoenix again (X-Men: The Last Stand 2006). Does the new Dark Phoenix movie take place in an alternate reality or something? Does it in any way tie in to the X-men trilogy from the 2000s? "Last Stand" SPOILERS..... I thought it was pretty poor writing in "Last Stand" when Dark Phoenix killed Xavier. After all, in the comic book, Jean Grey committed suicide to prevent Dark Phoenix from re-emerging; she did that to save the people she loved. But in the movie, she kills Professor X??? I understand that movies don't follow written stories, books, etc, but such a vast departure is difficult for me to accept. Maybe I just love Jean Grey and Prof X too much xD ...
