I am using v4.6

You need to set up mbse to use it and more inportantly where it is via
 mbsetup 1.4 - Ext. edit

This should be set to editor.

In ~/bin/editor make any changes you need but I do not recall making any.
This is a bash script.

As a Sysop I use Golded for all echo, usegroups etc and that is used outside
the BBS.

One point, it does set up the language used but will default to English.
