Blanche Bickerson DuBois. The DuBois was from a Streetca > named Desire were Blanche had "depended on the kindness of strangers". Cool background to her name! Better story than most. >> It's funny to hear some of those old cigarette ads > What gets me are how all products claim they are better than the other > similar products for sale. Yup, I laugh at the beer ads, as I've figured out that once you've chemically aged the beer, they all taste the same, in a category (lager, ale) I rarely drink beer any more -- the occasional oatmeal stout in winter & a Chinese beer or two each summer does it for me. . . Now I just need to find a local; bar that sells Porter,. as I've not had that yet. > I'm watching videos on automobiles, in order by year, make and model, > etc. > Each year the companies claimed their current model was better than the > last year. "This year's car is a lot better than last year, which was > junk". > (Currently I am near the end of 1957 run). Youtube video or big download? I interpret that ad claim as saying, "Ha Ha! We got your money on that piece of crap; we've now changed a thing or two & raised the price. Please buy this one, too? Iacocca was the lar of the original thinkers in that industry -- the Mustang & Cougar will always live on as master examples of the US Muscle Car. My ex brother-in-law had a '67 Cougar. took me for a ride up in the back country up north -- this thing went uphill faster than most of today's cars go downhill! Sure feels nice to sink back into the leather buckets as the car accelerates with pure power. The modern Mustang has power, too, but the feel, to me, is completely different. --- BBBS/Li6 v4.10 Toy-6 * Origin: The Rusty MailBox - Penticton, BC Canada (1:153/757) SEEN-BY: 1/123 15/0 19/38 50 90/1 105/81 106/201 633 987 120/340 123/131 SEEN-BY: 124/5014 5016 129/305 330 331 130/330 153/7715 218/700 226/30 SEEN-BY: 227/114 229/110 111 112 113 206 307 317 400 424 426 428 452 SEEN-BY: 229/470 664 700 266/512 280/464 282/1038 292/854 317/3 320/219 SEEN-BY: 322/757 342/200 387/25 26 396/45 460/58 633/280 712/848 PATH: 153/757 280/464 396/45 229/426 |
