Yeah, I've tried BBS'ing on my iPhone and iPad, I think I used an app called 
Termius, it was... fine.  Maybe on an iPad with an external keyboard it would
be better.

Yeah, my initial thought for getting the iPad was for more consumption like
ebooks, light browsing, etc.  There's an app called Flipboard that kind of
lets you read webpages like a magazine, but like a lot of apps now they want
you to pay to unlock this, or subscribe for this awesome new feature.
